Overnight Oats

If I was asked what food I could eat every morning for the rest of my life and not get tired of eating…I would immediately blurt out OATS!

I {heart} oats.

I love them cooked. I love them in shakes. I love them in energy bars. I love them in gorilla poo. I even love them just plain old dry in all of their naked glory. Delish. Even though they are my favorite of all favorites, I was skeptical to try “Overnight Oats”. Cold, mushy oats was where I drew the line. But then I made a version…and I fell in love all over again.

{cue the heavenly music}

Overnight Oats

So easy and I love that they are ready to go and can be packed up in a cooler for those days when I don’t have time to cook.

1/3 cup dry oats
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (100 calories)
1/4 cup 0% plain Greek yogurt
1/3-1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
cinnamon and stevia
1/2 sliced banana

Mix oats, protein powder, yogurt, milk, cinnamon and stevia in a bowl. Cover the bowl and keep in fridge overnight. The next morning, add sliced banana (or any fruit) and stir. Yum!

I can’t wait to try different varieties of this. The possibilities are endless!

Based on the recipe above using FAVAO protein powder and 1/2 cup almond milk, calories are 306.

      • So, I used rice milk instead of almond, and used 1/4 cup of an unmixed Chobani Greek Strawberry yogurt (since I didn’t have plain), and I thought it was a little too sweet. Maybe I added too much stevia? How many drops do you normally use? Oh…and the texture is going to take some getting used to. I’ll try again with the same ingredients that you have listed and see if I like it more. šŸ™‚

  3. Yeah – if you used a flavored yogurt w/ the stevia AND fruit, it would be quite sweet. A couple of drops of stevia goes a long ways, but everyone’s taste buds are different.
